Green Hill Presbyterian Church

Weekly Announcements, 3/29

Pastor Dan invites you to consider joining the church on Easter Sunday.  If you have been thinking and praying about the possibility of joining Green Hill Church, the final day of Holy Week would be a significant time for you, and the rest of us, to make or renew a faith commitment to Christ and His Church.

Come to Pastor Dan’s office on Sunday, April 8 at 10:25am to meet with him and some of our Elders to 1) reaffirm your faith in Christ as Savior and Lord or 2) make a first time profession of faith and request Christian Baptism, or 3) request that our Clerk of Session write for your letter of membership from another Christian Church.

The Maundy Thursday worship service will be held at 6pm on the 5th.  On this day we will commemorate the Last Supper Jesus had with the Apostles.  This solemn service will include Communion.

The Sunrise Service on Easter morning will be held at Green Hill this year.  This joint service with Lee Street Baptist Church will begin at 6:30m.  Breakfast will be served following the service.  Men of the Church are asked to come early to help set up the chairs in the parking lot near the cross.

This week Green Hill will join with Presbyterians throughout the PCUSA to participate in the One Great Hour of Sharing.  This special collection goes to assist those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and help build strong communities.  Envelopes for this collection can be found in the pew racks.  Donations for this ministry will be accepted on Palm Sunday and again next week, on Easter Sunday.

Please join us for Pasta & Praise Family Dinner on Wednesday, April 4.  We will be serving spaghetti, bread, salad, and dessert from 5pm to 6pm.  Then we will share music and praise together.  Cost is $3 per person, or $5 per family.  All you have to do is fill out a reservation slip and come enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship!  Reservation slips can be found in the pew racks and may be dropped off in the basket on the church office door.

Everyone is welcome to bring lilies to the church to decorate the sanctuary for Easter.  This is done in honor, or remembrance, of a loved one.  If you plan to bring a lily to the church, please let the office know by filling out one of the white forms in the pew racks.  Forms may be dropped off in the basket on the church office door.  Information must be received no later than April 4, in time to be included in the Easter bulletin.

On Saturday, April 7, an Easter Egg Hunt will be held here at Green Hill.  The event will begin at 1:00pm and is open to all Green Hill children and their friends.
