Presbyterian Women News, 4/23

Sunday, May 3, is the day of the annual Presbyterian Women Birthday Luncheon. Immediately following the morning’s worship service, a lunch celebrating the birthdays of everyone in the congregation will be served in the Fellowship Hall.

If you plan to attend, please fill out one of the slips from the pew racks.  Or, call the church office and speak to Sandi.  Meat, cake, and drinks will be provided by the PW.  Everyone is asked to bring a salad, vegetable, bread, or casserole.

At the luncheon, envelopes will be made available for donations to the PW Birthday Offering. This offering goes to projects that are support the health, education, and economic needs of women and children around the world.

Tickets are now available for the next Belk Charity Day SaleThe sale will be held at the Dothan location on May 2, from 6am to 10am.  To attend, you must purchase a $5 ticket from one of the members of the Presbyterian Women at Green Hill.  This very special ticket will not only get you admission to the sale, but it also acts as a coupon to get you $5 off of your first purchase.  That’s in addition to getting the already marked discounts of 20% to 70% off!  And, that little ticket just keeps on working because the money for all of the tickets sold at Green Hill goes to the Green Hill PW.  The Belk Charity Day Sale is a major contributor to the missions budget of the Presbyterian Women ministry.

Mother’s Day will be here soon, and the Wiregrass Emergency Pregnancy Service (WEPS) is once again having their annual fundraiser – the Mother’s Day tribute.  A two-page ad will appear in the Enterprise Ledger on Mother’s Day and will be titled, “Thanks, Mom…for life.”  This ad is the perfect opportunity to honor every mother, living or deceased, by acknowledging and thanking her for choosing life.  You will also be supporting WEPS as they continue their pro-life work of saving babies while caring for young women who are facing unplanned pregnancies.

For just $5 per name, you can honor all of the “mothers” in your life.  We will be taking names and donations through Sunday, May 3.  Please contact Sandi in the church office to support this very important ministry.

The Presbyterian Women have Mother’s Day Cards available in exchange for a donation to the Healthy Women Healthy Families program.

The Healthy Women Healthy Families ministry supports health projects that care for women and children in Africa, helping families escape a vicious cycle of poor health and poverty.  Healthy Women Healthy Families assists church partners with prevention and care projects in four countries:  Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Southern Sudan.  Here women often struggle to protect the health of their children and themselves in communities where the lack of health services can have tragic consequences.

If you are interested in getting a card, please contact a member of the Presbyterian Women Coordinating Team.
