Enterprise Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary Needs Your Help!

This notice from the Enterprise Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary is being reposted at the request of Girl Scout Troop #9338.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BBWS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE ANY NEW WILDLIFE ADMISSIONS!

We hope that this is a temporary issue, but without the community support of donations it may be permanent.

We will continue to care for the multiple wildlife species that we currently have until they are ready for release. Many of these species will be with us for several more months or possibly longer and we still need your help to provide for them and pay for the existing bills we have.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we ask that you call your local game warden or the DCNR WFF wildlife hotline for further assistance if needed at 800-272-4263.

We have also attached a link to other wildlife rehabilitators in Alabama that may be able to assist you. You will notice that there are not very many permitted wildlife rehabilitators in Alabama and only four facilities that are permitted to take in rabies vector species (raccoons, bats, skunks, coyotes and fox) and migratory birds. BBWS is one of the few rehabilitation facilities that are permitted to take all native species, to include RVS and all Migratory Birds. If you are interested in becoming a wildlife rehabilitator call your nearest rehabber and ask if they will mentor you.

WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS TO GIVE WILDLIFE A 2ND CHANCE!

PLEASE HELP BBWS and YOUR LOCAL REHABBERS BY MAKING DONATIONS.

BBWS IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION (There are NO paid positions within the organization). BBWS would not exist if not for our wonderful volunteers and donors. Our funds are provided entirely through donations by concerned citizens and fund raisers. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization and all donations are tax deductible. All donations are used to build pens/enclosures and to provide food and medical assistance to indigenous wildlife in need here at the Sanctuary, unless the donor specifies the donation be spent on a particular project or for further education for our volunteers. BBWS receives no funding from State or Federal programs and relies solely on donations.

If you would like to make a DONATION please mail or bring it to:
