DOES PRAYER CHANGE THINGS?

They say that prayer changes things, but does it REALLY change anything? Oh yes! It really does!

Does prayer change your present situation or sudden circumstances? No, not always, but it does change the way you look at those events.

Does prayer change your financial future? No, not always, but it does change Who you look to for meeting your daily needs.

Does prayer change shattered hearts or broken bodies? No, not always, but it will change your source of strength and comfort.

Does prayer change your wants and desires? No, not always, but it will change your wants into what God desires!

Does prayer change how you view the world? No, not always, but it will change whose eyes you see the world through.

Does prayer change your regrets from the past? No, not always, but it will change your hopes for the future!

Does prayer change the people around you? No, not always, but it will change you – the problem isn’t always in others.

Does prayer change your life in ways you can’t explain? Oh, yes, always! And it will change you from the inside out!

So, does prayer REALLY change ANYTHING? Yes! It REALLY does change EVERYTHHING!

RETIRE YOUR AMERICAN FLAGS WITH HONOR

Many of you have noticed a new addition to the parking lot here at Green Hill. We now have a box to collect old, weathered American flags. The box was installed last week by Andrew Whittington as part of his Eagle Scout Project. If you have a flag that is worn, torn, faded, or soiled, please drop it off in the box. Flags deposited in the box will be honorably retired by the Boy Scouts of Troop #150. Congratulations to Andrew and everyone who has supported him through his Eagle Project. Well done!

YOUTH BIBLE STUDY VOLUNTEERS

We’re getting ready for the 2016-2017 Youth Bible Study classes, and we are looking for some volunteers to help out. We need people to pick children up at school, to bring snacks and drinks, to help during Bible Study, and to fill in as substitutes when the regular teachers can’t be there. If you’d like to help, you can put your name on the sign-up board in the narthex, or you can contact April Seery directly. Thank you to all of our volunteers! Classes start on September 6.

WE NEED CAFÉ HOSTS & USHERS!

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve? We need Café Hosts and Ushers! Even if you can just volunteer for one Sunday, you’ll be a big help. The sign-up sheet is located on the board in the kitchen.

Thank you to those who have already signed up. And, thank you to everyone who has volunteered to be an Usher or a Café Host over the past year, especially those who those who were called into service at the last moment. We really appreciate you!
