Sunday, September 25, has been designated as “Faith Sunday” by the Session of Green Hill. On this Sunday, Rev. Jamison will be with us as we take a look at what it means to “step out in faith” and what it means to trust in the Lord and rely on His promises.
It is recorded in the book of Luke that when the apostles asked the Lord to increase their faith, He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”
If the tiniest bit of faith is that powerful, just think of what the faith at Green Hill can do in service to the Lord! Please come and worship and pray with us on the 25th as we prepare for the coming year.
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY
The much anticipated “How We Got the Bible” class will begin following the pot luck supper on Wednesday, September 21. Dr. Scott Smith will focus on the translations from the time of John Wycliffe in the fourteenth century through the present. The course will be held each Wednesday and will run through early December. An order for the books was placed by the church office, and they should arrive very soon. The cost of the books is $15 each. You do not need to have a book to attend the class. The course is open to all members and members of other churches as well. Come and invite your friends and neighbors to come too!
If you haven’t yet turned in the tear-off portion of the recent survey letter that was mailed out to all church members, please bring it in on Faith Sunday, September 25. Your input will help the Admin & Stewardship Committee as they plan the budget for the next fiscal year. If you have any questions about the letter, please contact the church office.
