Green Hill Presbyterian Church is inviting our community to join with us in celebrating the service and sacrifices that are special to our veterans and their families on November 13th, during a Red, White and Blue – Veteran Appreciation Service. Our congregation is deeply connected with Ft. Rucker, the Armed Services and the veterans in our community. This service is intended to bring all four together for a day of remembrance, reflection and fellowship.
The morning’s agenda:
10:30 – Early seating and slideshow begins
11:00 – Posting of the colors (DAV Color Guard)
11:05 – The service begins
12:00 – Cake and coffee social in Fellowship Hall
13:00 – Flag Retirement Service performed by Boy Scout Troop 150
We are requesting that you share a piece of your history with us. We will loop a slideshow that displays pictures that you send us to be shown in the sanctuary during the early seating period. Please list the names of those in your photos, location the picture was taken and year. The slideshow will be segmented into major campaigns. Please email pictures and details to: CW4(Ret) James McDonough, firstname.lastname@example.org
Bring your flags that need to be retired. Troop 150 will retire your flag following the service.
Please RSVP to Sandi at email@example.com so we can plan accordingly for refreshments. Please make note of any special concerns that we may need to be made aware of, such as wheel chairs.
Thanks and God bless, we hope you and members of your organizations will join us.
