Honoring Their Memory, an Important Message

In 2014, while in charge of placing flags on Veterans graves with a local veterans organization, I had an idea – “why limit honoring our deceased veterans to only ONE place, why not honor ALL veterans in the area”. So, in 2015, we started the first Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony in Enterprise  and brought the Wreaths Across America event here. The next year, we almost doubled the number of graves that we knew about and added the Flags-In Ceremony. This year, the Enterprise City Cemetery was chosen as the Primary Ceremonial Site and the volunteers also placed THANK YOU Letters from Elementary School students with the Honor Wreaths on the graves at several local cemeteries.

We are now combining all of these these events and through the joint efforts of the Enterprise Civitan Club and the American Legion Family, we are going to be able to accomplish this Dream.  The original and continuing purpose is to be able to Honor our deceased Veterans by placing Honor Wreaths, American Flags, cards/letters, and other appropriate items on their graves for special occasions to let the families and loved ones know that their sacrifices are not forgotten.

We’re working with local Churches, civic groups, and the media to find the names of the veterans buried in the local cemeteries. As this number grows, we’ll add more civic and veteran organizations to help with conducting the ceremonies and the distribution of the items.

Our second goal is to be able to raise enough funds through donations so that we can provide Honor Wreaths and flags for EVERY veteran’s grave in the area without requiring the family of the veteran to pay anything. Unlike some organizations, we don’t feel that there should be a monetary requirement for a veteran to be honored in this fashion. To do this, we will take donations of any amount. All of the donations go through the Enterprise Civitan Club, which is a non-profit organization so every penny is accounted for. Since the Civitan “Staff” is all volunteer, 100% of the money goes towards this venture..

If you have ANY questions about this Project, or want to volunteer to distribute wreaths and flags, or your organization wants to help ‘Sponsor’ a location, feel free to contact us!!

You can give the information to a Civitan or American Legion member.
