It's a new month! Don't forget to check out the upcoming events on the Green Hill Church Calendar: https://greenhillpc.com/calendar/
The Christian Year: Season of Advent
During the season of Advent, we celebrate Christ’s coming into the world and watch with expectant hope for his coming again. In its historical origins, the season of Advent was patterned after the season of Lent, a six-week period of penitence and preparation for Easter. Similarly, the four weeks of Advent present an opportunity for communal discernment and personal examination, as the church prepares to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord and looks with hope for Christ’s return.
Holy Communion at Green Hill is open to all believers, all who trust Christ as their Lord and Savior. You do not need to be a member of Green Hill to receive Communion. You are warmly invited to share the Bread and the Cup from the Lord’s Table. Communion is offered at Green Hill on the 1st Sunday of each month. Worship service begins at 11:00am.
The Christian Year: Christ the King / Reign of Christ
At the conclusion of the Christian year, the church gives thanks and praise for sovereignty of Christ, who is Lord of all creation and is coming again in glory to reign (see Revelation 1:4-8). This festival was established in 1925 by decree of Pope Pius XI. Originally it took place on the last Sunday in October, just prior to All Saints’ Day. Now it is celebrated on the last Sunday of the Christian year, a week before the season of Advent begins.
Please join us for worship tomorrow! Everyone is welcome at Green Hill Presbyterian Church. Service begins at 11:00am. 735 East Lee Street, Enterprise. Alabama. www.greenhillpc.com
