SCOUTS BSA WELCOMES GIRLS

As you may have heard, Boy Scouts are now accepting girls into their organization. The “Boy Scouts” have re-branded themselves “Scouts BSA.”  Troop #150 at Green Hill will be open to girls beginning February 1, 2019. These girls will meet at the same time as the boys, but they will be in a separate, all-girl troop.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES ARE FOR SALE

In other scouting news, it’s Girl Scout Cookie Season! Our very own Kendall, Makayla, and Emma have cookies in hand and they are ready to sell. The cookies are still $4 per box, and the girls have every flavor except the new gluten-free cookies.  If you can’t eat the cookies, you can buy a box to donate to the Green Hill Food Pantry. The needy families the church supports enjoy getting little surprises from time to time.

Kendall, Makayla, and Emma earned their Silver Awards last year, which is the second-highest award in Girl Scouting. Kendall, who is now a Senior Girl Scout, is currently working to earn her Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. These three girls are doing amazing things!  Thank you for supporting your local Girl Scouts.
