SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Joel’s big soup pot will be in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday because February 3 is Souper Bowl Sunday! No, that’s not a typo, this is the week we collect food and money to support our food pantry. Churches all over the country are participating in this annual event.

More than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.” Everything donated at Green Hill will go to support our Green Hill Food Pantry.

Financial contributions can be dropped in the pot. Food can be placed on the table by the pot. Thank you to everyone who supports this mission of our church.

SCOUTS BSA SUNDAY

On Sunday, February 10, Green Hill will celebrate Scouts BSA Sunday during the morning worship service. Scouts BSA Sunday is designated as the day to commemorate the founding of the Boy Scouts of America in 1910 and to recognize the contributions BSA Scouts make to their churches and their communities. All local BSA Scouts are welcome to attend, and are encouraged to wear their uniforms.

(Girl Scout Sunday will be held on March 10, 2019)
