FROM THE PASTOR’S CORNER
“April Showers Bring May Flowers….”
I don’t know how relevant these old sayings are, given our Southern climate. We did not have a lot of April showers. We had a deluge or two, but really not a lot of April rain. On the other hand, we have already experienced a lot of floral colors on our yards, and now we are getting ready for the beginning of our summer, around the middle of May!
May is also a time of celebrating Mom’s Special Day, graduations of all kinds, a few early weddings and all kinds of alumni gatherings, as we in the church celebrate the days following Easter, leading up to the celebration of the birthday of the Church—Pentecost, in June.
So, Easter promises new life, renewed hope; for the land, for us all. Let us celebrate and give thanks to the Lord!

MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY OF HUGH MCNAB
The McNab, Peacock, Medley, and Miler families would like to thank everyone for the prayers, cards, calls, and food, during our time of loss. A special thanks to the ladies of the church for the luncheon. All was greatly appreciated.
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: May 2
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. This year the National Day of Prayer falls on Thursday, May 2. The City of Enterprise will host an event on the steps of City Hall, beginning at Noon. Everyone is invited to attend.
CHECK OUT THE CHURCH CALENDAR ONLINE
On the church’s website, http://www.GreenHillPC.com, you can see an interactive calendar of all church events, which includes a week, month, and agenda view, as well as the option to print. NEWSLETTER DEADLINE
Information for the June/July Green Hill Good Newsletter needs to be submitted to the church office no later than Monday, May 20. You can contact the office by email or by phone, or you can drop your news off in the basket on the door. We will not print a separate newsletter in July, so be sure to get us ALL of your summer news for this edition of the newsletter. Many thanks to those who contribute!
CARPET CLEANING
We will have our bi-annual carpet cleaning on Thursday, May 2. No events will be scheduled at the church this day to give the carpets time to fully dry. On Wednesday, May 1, if we could get some help moving the tables in the Fellowship Hall off of the carpets, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
SCHOOL IS ALMOST OUT FOR THE SUMMER!
Please pray for our youth (as well as their parents and teachers) as they take their final exams and at the end of this school year. Summer is almost here!
