SEASONS OF THE CHURCH
This Sunday will be the twelfth day of Christmas, the final day of the Christmas season. Will your true love bring you Twelve Drummers Drumming? On Monday we will set aside the Christmas celebrations and enter the season of Epiphany, beginning with the Epiphany of the Lord, or Three Kings Day.
During the Epiphany season our gospel readings will cover many events that demonstrate the divinity of Jesus, something that will not be fully revealed to the disciples until the Transfiguration. As we read about the wedding at Cana and the various miracles and teachings of Jesus, think about those who were seeing and hearing these things for the very first time!
The excitement will build through the Scripture readings as we approach Transfiguration Sunday, the recognition of when Jesus’ identity as the Son of God is dramatically revealed. Join with us this season as we follow the path and experiences of the disciples to discover/rediscover who Jesus is to us.
