SOUPER BOWL OF CARING
1990-2020 Celebrating 30 years!
Joel’s big soup pot will be in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 2, for Souper Bowl Sunday! No, that’s not a typo. Next week we will collect food and money to support our food pantry. Churches all over the country are participating in this annual event that was started by teens at a Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
Thirty years ago the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.” Everything donated at Green Hill will go to support our Green Hill Food Pantry.
Financial contributions can be dropped in the pot. Food can be placed on the table by the pot. Thank you to everyone who supports this mission of our church.
