JUNE SESSION MEETING

The Session meeting scheduled for the first Sunday of the month, June 7, will be held immediately following the morning worship service, about Noon, instead of later in the day. Elders, please adjust your calendars accordingly.

PENTECOST OFFERING

Last Sunday was Pentecost Sunday and this Sunday, June 7, is Trinity Sunday, which is also the first Sunday in “Ordinary Time” or the time “After Pentecost.” This is the point in the year when we traditionally take up the annual Pentecost Offering.

As you may recall, the purpose of his special offering is to benefit at-risk children, youth, and young adults. A portion of the offering is sent to PCUSA to be used for their national programs, but 40% of the money stays here, at Green Hill, to benefit youth in our area. Traditionally this money is used at the end of the summer to help needy families in Enterprise purchase school supplies for their children.

If you feel called to contribute to this offering, you can use one of the red envelopes found in the pew racks, or you can simply write the word “Pentecost” on the memo line of your check. We will accept donations to this offering through the month of June. Thank you to everyone for supporting this very worthy mission of our church.

JUNE COMMUNION POSTPONED

We are thrilled to once again be worshiping together in person. How wonderful to join at the church in Christian fellowship! Over the past few Sundays we have had to modify our usual Sunday routine to keep in line with the “social distancing” guidelines. With the first Sunday of the month coming up, which is the day we usually have Communion, we have been trying to figure out how to do that safely. We have a plan in place, but it isn’t quite ready. As a result, we are postponing Communion for June. We will make an announcement when we have set the date of the next Communion service. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.
