FROM THE PASTOR’S CORNER
As I write this, we are in Springtime, having almost completed our Lenten Journey and on our way to Easter Sunday!
It has truly been a “long winter”—a year of Pandemic anxiety and disrupted schedules! We look forward to the “Springtime of Hope” as we get vaccinated, see new opportunities for being together and otherwise experience a “new normal”.
Our Session has scheduled our traditional Maundy Thursday Communion Service next week on April 1st at 6 p.m. We will also record this service of Scripture and Hymns on Facebook Live.
And, as the warmer days arrive, look for some activity on the front of our church property as the rock garden is transformed into a beautiful butterfly habitat!
See you Sunday!

NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY
The church office is working on a new directory. A “draft copy” has been printed and is sitting on the desk in the office. Please take a moment to review your listing to make sure all of your information is as it should be. In a couple of weeks a new directory will be published for the church members.
“IN CASE OF EMERGENCY” CARDS
In addition running the church directory, the church office is working on creating a set of “ICE” cards for all of our church members. ICE stands for “In Case of Emergency.” An ICE card contains any information a person thinks might be relevant in an emergency, and most importantly includes who to contact in case of an emergency.
POLLINATOR GARDEN UPDATE
Now that the weather is warming up, it is nearly time to start planting the pollinator garden. We expect to have the youth (Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) out to the church one day in the next month to clear the ground and to prep for planting. The first major plant purchase has been made, a Vitex tree, that will be the centerpiece of the new garden. This type of tree will bloom from late spring to early fall. It attracts butterflies and bees. Next to go in will be plants like butterfly bushes, Salvia, and Gaura.

“SCOUTS BSA” BUS BARN TRANSFORMATION
The “Scouts BSA” troops have been hard at work transforming the old bus barn into classroom space for their meetings. The building has received official approval from the fire marshal and it was used for its very first meeting on Monday, March 22. The next project on the agenda is for them to renovate the existing Scout Hut.
