FROM THE PASTOR’S CORNER

Time change; Stewardship Sunday; Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving! WHEW! When Fall comes, it sure brings a lot with it.

Shorter days, a quick route from Halloween to Thanksgiving with Veteran’s Day and Stewardship Sunday in between.

Let’s just sum up all the special days in November and say: “Give Thanks! For God is Good, All the Time!”

See you Sunday!

David

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
for His steadfast love endures forever!

-1 Chronicles 16:34

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS NOVEMBER 7

Don’t forget to change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night, November 6. Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 7, and we all get back that extra hour we gave up in the Spring. We look forward to seeing you at church on Sunday morning, at the correct time.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Things are gearing up for this year’s Operation Christmas Child project. If you are interested in packing a box, you can pick one up in the Fellowship Hall. The suggested donation for mailing the box is $9 and checks can be made out to Samaritan’s Purse.

Collection Week for the boxes begins on November 15. You can drop your box off in person at St. Luke United Methodist Church during that week, or you can drop it off at the Green Hill office by November 14 and Sandi will take the boxes over.

STEWARDSHIP CARDS

The church’s annual Stewardship Sunday is fast approaching. At this time, we ask each member, each family, and all our regular worshipers, to prayerfully examine their resources and to pledge a portion to God’s work. Individual pledge cards will be mailed out to each member and regular attendee near the end of October. On Stewardship Sunday, November 14, a special collection of the pledge cards will be held during the morning service. For the purpose of planning the budget, we ask about financial contributions, but it is important to remember that stewardship is more than money.

Stewardship = Time + Talent + Treasure
