Millions of our US military veterans, police officers, firefighters, and everyday citizens struggle with PTSD. Many feel isolated and don’t know where to turn for help. Reflective Media Productions has come together with The Mighty Oaks Foundation and many others to produce a movie titled WE ARE STRONGER. Our goal is to raise awareness of PTSD and to show the hope found only in Jesus.
Master Sergeant Victor Raphael is nearing the end of his military career when an explosion in Afghanistan leaves him injured. Back home, he is thrust into battle once again, but he hasn’t been trained for this type of warfare. With his career behind him and painful physical therapy ahead, he finds himself without a purpose and in a war with his own mind. Having spent years with an ocean between them, his wife, Michelle, is distant and their marriage seems to be held together only by her sense of duty. From leading troops into battle to being unable to leave the house, Vic finds himself isolated in more ways than he ever thought possible, until the unexpected happens. Through the help of two kids and some unlikely heroes, Vic must face the trauma and the wounds on his soul to save his marriage and to help his fellow brother in need. To succeed he must discover the true source of strength and realize he can’t do it alone if he is going to win this war and emerge stronger.
We Are Stronger will be shown at Clark Cinema in Enterprise, January 19 to January 25, 2018.
The festivals and seasons of the Christian year (or liturgical calendar) offer a way to order the annual life of the church according to the life of Christ and the events of salvation history. Through two millennia of Christian worship, a certain cycle of festivals and seasons has emerged and is now recognized and observed throughout the ecumenical church. Some of these events (Pentecost, Holy Week and Epiphany, e.g.) can be traced to the earliest centuries of Christian practice; others (Trinity Sunday and Christ the King, e.g.) developed later in the history of the church.
For the 2018 year, Green Hill will run a series of posts, one for each special event in the Christian calendar, explaining the meaning and significance of the event. Keep an eye out for the graphic shown above; it will appear on each of these posts. As you begin this brand new year, we pray that the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
The church office is open 8am to Noon, Monday to Thursday.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING DECEMBER 31
The annual Congregational Meeting for 2017 will be held on Sunday, immediately following the morning worship service. All Green Hill members are asked to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to elect two new Elders to the Session and one new Trustee for the church.
ELDER TRAINING AND INSTALLATION
Pastor Tim will hold Elder Training on Saturday, January 6, at 9:00am. The new Elders will be officially installed at the morning worship service on January 7.
On Sunday, January 7, all youth are asked to meet with Pastor Tim at 10:30am for Acolyte Training. Those who have been lighting candles for years, and those who are brand new, are all asked to attend. The kids will get a chance to review what to do as an Acolyte and to learn why Acolytes do what they do.
CHRISTMAS JOY OFFERING
Sunday is the final day to make contributions to the Christmas Joy offering. This offering is an opportunity for joyful giving and support to those who have faithfully served the church and for those schools that they support. Look for the purple special offering envelopes in your pew racks.
PRAYER LIST NAMES
Please note that on the first Sunday in January, the church office will start off the New Year with a new prayer list. We are going to remove everyone and start fresh. If you know of someone who should remain on the list, or of someone who needs to be added to the list, please contact the church office. Thank you.
Just a reminder that we will NOT have Fellowship Supper or Bible Study on Wednesday, December 27.
On Christmas Eve, we light the Christ Candle. We remember the birth of our Lord and Savior, which was foretold by the prophets, happened in Bethlehem, was revealed to the shepherds, and proclaimed by the angels. All month long we have been waiting and preparing. On this night we celebrate!
